The top two fields
Name
and
Serial Number
are mandatory and should be filled up in
order to be able to store changes.

Only the content of these two fields can be uploaded to the device. The rest of the
information should be considered as reference data for users only.
As we have reached this point we have created an System file with all the appropriate
information and now we are ready to go further for configuring DGT System -
generate Settings files (based on the System file) and upload them to the appropriate
devices.
DGT-Utility configuration - Creating and uploading a Settings File
The Settings File is part of the whole DGT System configuration, and is related to a
dedicated device within the system. The important things to know about the Settings File
are:

The Settings File for a particular device should be generated or updated before being
uploaded to the device.
•
The Settings File can be generated automatically (the system will do it for you) or
manually (by user request). In the latter case, the user can specify explicitly which file
name he/she wants to assign to it.
•
Each Settings File contains the device number in an encrypted format, so this file can
be correctly uploaded to the device only with the exact same number. If not, an error
message will appear during the upload process.
