Clear All Dynamic Entries
Allows the user to flush all dynamic entries in both “LAN” and “WAN”
MAC address tables. (All local traffic will then be broadcast until the
destination addresses are re-learned).
Note:
This action also clears the MAC addresses of remote devices
(i.e. the entries learned from the WAN).
Static MAC Table Setup Sub-tab
This sub-tab (Figure 46) allows the user to enter, edit or delete static MAC
address entries for the selected port. The user can select any available
paddleboard port, Note that the labels for those ports that are available but
presently disabled are grayed out although these ports are selectable and
configurable.
Static MAC memberships can be entered for P-Access, Q-Access and Q-Trunk
ports. For Q-Access and Q-Trunk ports, the static MAC memberships are
entered along with the QVLAN ID (see Figure 47).
Note:
(Applicable to P-Access and P-Trunk ports) It is allowed to have the same
MAC address on different D-PVLANs.
Note:
(Applicable to Q-Access and Q-Trunk ports) It is allowed to have the same
MAC address on multiple QVLANs within the same D-PVLAN (regardless of
whether the same MAC address appears on the same or different local ports).
However, it is NOT allowed to have the same MAC address with the same
QVLAN ID on multiple local ports with different D-PVLAN memberships.
Note:
(Applicable to Q-Access and Q-Trunk ports) If the static MAC address is
entered with the QVLAN ID that does not match any of the port‟s static QVLAN
memberships, the QVLAN ID will be displayed in red to indicate that any traffic
from the device with the respective MAC address will not be accepted.
To add a static MAC address, click on the
Add
button and a pop-up window will
allow for easy MAC address (and QVLAN membership) entry. A maximum of 20
static MAC addresses can be entered per port.
To edit a static MAC entry (or its associated QVLAN ID, if applicable), click on
the entry and then click
Edit
. A pop-up window will allow for easy editing.
To delete a static MAC entry, click on the entry. Click
Delete
and then
Configure
.
Note:
When the Port Type is changed, all previously entered static MAC
addresses for the port are deleted.
