Functional Description
5.1 Introduction
The
GBX24
is
a
fully
managed,
24
‐
port,
Gigabit
Ethernet
switch.
Auto
‐
negotiation
is
standard,
allowing
the
GBX24
to
seamlessly
connect
with
10/100/1000BaseT
nodes,
and
even
1000BaseSX
or
1000BaseLX
optical
ports
if
required.
With
the
switch
management
software,
in
a
short
time
the
GBX24
can
be
configured
to
guarantee
bandwidth
on
a
per
‐
port
or
VLAN
basis.
For
increased
network
ruggedness,
trunking
and
redundant
links
are
possible.
With
remote
management,
these
switch
settings
can
be
configured
on
the
fly
using
the
web
‐
based
management
interface,
providing
you
have
switch
administration
privileges.
The
GBX24
provides
simple
migration,
scalability,
and
flexibility
to
handle
new
applications
and
data
types,
making
it
a
highly
reliable
and
cost
effective
solution
for
high
‐
speed
network
connectivity.
