Using the Stainless Carafe Drip Coffee Maker
Descale (Cleaning) Mode
A. To ensure quality performance and great tasting coffee,
descale your coffee maker often. This coffee maker is designed
to alert you to descale every 80 brew cycles. When it's time to
descale, a
Descale
icon will light on the control display.
B. To begin descaling, press and hold the
1-4 Cups
button for 2
seconds to enter descale mode. Descaling can be completed
any time, even when the machine does not prompt you to do so
C. Fill the tank with water and descaler to the max level as indicated
on the water gauge (the ratio of water and descaler is 4:1, refer
to the instructions on the descaler. Please use "household
descaler". You may also use citric acid (vinegar) instead of
descaler. (If using citric acid, the ratio of water to citric acid is 100
parts water to 3 parts citric acid).
D. Place the carafe under the brew basket.
E. Press
Brew/Cancel
to begin the descaling cycle.
F. In the
Descale
mode, the heater will operate until the water is
empty.
G. When the Descale cycle is finished turn off the appliance.
H. Refill the tank with plain water.
I. Turn on the appliance and run the brew cycle until the water tank
is completely empty.
J. Rinse by running the brew cycle with plain water at least 3 times.

NOTE:
The Descale cycle will run until all water from the
reservoir has been used. If the
Brew/Cancel
button is pushed
in the middle of a Descale cycle, the machine will exit Descale
mode, but the Descale indicator on the control display will
remain lit until a full Descale cycle is completed.
L. When the Descale cycle finishes, the
Descale
icon will turn off,
and the machine will exit Descale Mode.
Single Serve Mode (Not available for Glass Carafe
model)
A. To brew using the
Single Serve
feature, slide the lever on the
brew chamber to the right side selection. To switch back to
default carafe brewing, slide the lever on the brew chamber to
the left side selection.
B. When the slider is in the
Single Serve
position,
1-4 Cups
will
light on the control display. This icon shows that single serve
brew has been selected.
C. The
Bold Brew
button can be pressed and activated during a
Single Serve brew for a bolder flavor.
D. Make sure your cup, mug, or travel tumbler are in place
beneath the brew chamber and press
Brew/Cancel
to start
Single Serve brewing.
NOTE:
The Single Serve feature is designed to brew a maximum
of 4 cups (20oz.)
NOTE:
Maximum mug height is 6.5’’.
NOTE:
The Single Serve feature is designed for cups, mugs, or
travel tumblers.
NOTE:
The 1-4 cup feature is designed for brewing into the
carafe.
NOTE:
If the Brew Chamber slider changes position during an
active brew cycle, no change will occur until the end of the active
brew cycle.
NOTE:
While the brew chamber slider is in the
Single Serve
position, the
1-4 Cups
Icon will be lit on the control display and
cannot be turned off with the
1-4 Cups
button. This light can be
turned off by adjusting the slider to the left carafe position.
Delay Brew Mode (Auto Brew)
A. To set your coffee maker to brew at a future time, press the
Delay Brew
button to enter the delay brew mode.
B. Using the arrow buttons, select the desired hour for the future
brew cycle. Once completed, press the
Hour/Min
button
again to switch to minutes. Using the arrow buttons, select the
desired minute for the future brew cycle.
C. Use the left and right arrow buttons to navigate between AM
or PM. Once AM/PM is chosen, press the
Hour/Min
button to
program brew time next.
D. Press the
Delay Brew
button to complete Delay Brew setup.
New settings will also be saved after 15 seconds of inactivity.
E. Pressing
Brew/Cancel
during Delay Brew setup will cancel the
setup process and exit Delay Brew Mode.
F. Once successfully setup, the
Delay Brew
icon will light on the
control display. Once a Delay Brew program is set, pressing
Delay Brew
again will cancel the active Delay Brew program,
but settings will be saved and used as the starting point for the
next Delay Brew setup.
G.
NOTE:
When Delay Brew is set and active, if the
Brew/Cancel
button is pressed, the Delay Brew program will be canceled,
and the machine will begin brewing under standard operation.
H.
NOTE:
Auto brew will start when the machine clock reaches
the Delay Brew set time. The
Delay Brew ON
icon will remain
lit on the control display until the programmed brew cycle
completes. Once the brew cycle is complete, the
Delay Brew
ON
icon will turn off.

NOTE:
To interrupt the brewing process at any time, press the
Brew/Cancel
button, then remove the electrical plug from the
wall outlet.
