There is a ratchet asse mbly attached to the camshaft
extension. This ratchet is normally d riven by the b reaker's
gear motor. A rol l e r on this ratchet engages with a prop
when the closing spring is fully charged and d riven over
center, see Fig.
1 2 .
This holds the closing spring i n a
charged condition.
Rotate the camshaft using the m aintena nce handle until
the ratchet assembly roller eng ages with the prop. Do not
d rive the roller agai nst the prop with u nd o force . The
breaker can now be closed by removi n g the prop from the
roller. This is done by manually activati ng the closing
solenoid armat u re b y push i n g the solenoid armatu re into
its windings. See Fig .
