ARC

A remote location that is designed to monitor
signals and reports from alarm systems and
summon assistance if necessary. A
communicator is required to contact the ARC.

Areas

Zones can be divided into groups. These are
called areas. Your system can have two areas,
known as area 1 and area 2. The common
area refers to both area 1 and area 2.

Buzzer

A local low volume vibrating audio output,
typically located in the keypad.

Central Station

A term sometimes used to describe an ARC.

Duress code

system, or specified areas of the system,
and generates a duress alarm. This is a
silent  alarm that sends a special report to
the ARC.

Fire Reset

A menu option that resets the fire detector
after an alarm. The system cannot be
armed until the detector is reset.

Force Arm

A menu option that arms all possible areas
displayed on the keypad including open or
tamper zones.

Force Partarm

A menu option that arms all zones, including
open and tamper zones, in the specified partarm
level.

the system is armed. They can be entered
without triggering an alarm.

Partarm

A menu option that arms part of the
premises.

Quick Arm

zones in the system without an exit time.

Quick Force Arm

the specified partarm level without an exit
time.

except duress alarms.

open casing.
