Preparing the memory card
Before using the dash cam, make sure that you format your memory card using
specialized utilities. We recommend using a free SD Formatter utility. Use a
search engine to find and download it from one of many Internet resources or
from the web portal http://www.sdcard.org .
Formatting is necessary to optimize the memory card access speed. Unlike
standard Windows formatting tools, SD Formatter formats the memory card
in accordance with SD Memory Card Format specification, which allows the dash
cam to access the card significantly faster. SD Formatter also creates an optimal
files system structure (cluster size, etc.).
If an unformatted memory card is used, the dash cam may fail to record at all
or record with long pauses between video clips. Formatting with SD Formatter
minimizes such pauses.
