14 Gateway ALR 7200R User’s Guide Supplement
Connecting Multiple System Drawers
Multiple system drawers, installed in a system cabinet, can share a single
set of peripherals (monitor, keyboard, and mouse) if a switch box, such as
the AutoSwitcher is installed.
The AutoSwitcher gives exclusive control of the monitor as well as routes
the keyboard and mouse inputs to the currently selected system drawer.
Installation of the AutoSwitcher is relatively simple and covered in detail in
the system cabinet user’s guide.
Connecting multiple system drawers requires extender cables to be plugged
into the rear of the system drawers and connected to the appropriate I/O
ports on the rear of the AutoSwitcher. Refer to the following figure for
connection details.
