Using DVD video discs
Region code
DVD players and DVD videos have their own region code numbers which are
assigned to each country or area as shown below. Your DVD player was set to
your region code number before it left the factory. If the region code number
of this DVD player is different from that of the DVD video, your DVD player
will not play it.

Indicates the region code where the disc can be played.
Number of audio languages recorded with multiple audio languages. The number

Number of subtitle languages recorded with the multiple subtitle languages. The
number in the mark indicates the number of subtitle languages. (Up to 32
languages)
Number of angles recorded from the multiple camera angles. The number in the
mark indicates the number of angles. (Up to 9 angles)
Aspect ratio and television screen type.

indicate the aspect ratio

indicates letter box,
PS
indicates pan-scan, and
WIDE
indicates wide screen.
