For using the gardening tool, we recommend the use of an RCD
with a residual current < 30 mA. In Switzerland the utilisation of
an RCD is obligatory.
Safety Precautions against Kickback and Pushback
Always keep the saw chain sharp. This will ensure a high level of
safety against kickback and throwback. Removal of any safety
devices, inadequate maintenance or incorrect mounting of the guide
bar and saw chain will increase the safety risk and lead to serious
injuries due to kickback.
For safety reasons do not use any other saw chain or guide bar
types not specified in this manual.
Kickback is the upward motion of the guide bar that occurs when
the saw chain tip contacts a hard object. Kickback is dangerous
and can lead to loss of control of the device.
Before cutting logs, secured in position. When working on
sloping ground, make sure to work facing upwards.
Personal Safety Equipment
When working with the electric garden tool, wear eye protection,
protective gloves and hearing protection. Wear cut-proof and
tight-fitting clothes and safety boots. When working with the saw
wear protective head gear.
Even in case of appropriate use of the chain saw some risk
remains. Potential human health hazards can be:
Cuts due to contact with an unprotected saw chain or when
touching a moving saw chain or the cutter bar of the hedge
trimmer.
