Performing a Safety or Decompression Stop
You should always perform all the required decompression stops and a safety stop to help reduce the risk of
decompression sickness. Missing a decompression stop adds significant risk.
1 Start a dive.
2 Select an option:
• To perform a safety stop, ascend to 5 m (15 ft.) after a dive of at least 11 m (35 ft.).
• To perform a decompression stop, begin your ascent when you exceed the no-decompression limit (NDL)
time.
3 Scroll to the primary data screen to view the safety or decompression stop information.
The safety or decompression stop ceiling depth.
The safety or decompression stop timer.
4 Stay within 3 m (9 ft.) of the of the ceiling depth until the timer reaches zero.
NOTE: If you ascend more than 0.6 m (2 ft.) above the decompression stop ceiling depth, the
decompression stop timer pauses, and the device alerts you to descend below the ceiling depth. The depth
and ceiling depth flash red until you are within the safe margin.
5 Continue ascending to the surface.
