3.7.4 Watering system
If the vehicle is taken out of service or put into storage for a period of 6 weeks or
longer, the HydroLink™ Watering System will require seasonal maintenance. No special
steps needs to be taken for winterization of a HydroLink™ Watering System that
is installed on the batteries; however, the following steps need to be followed when
bringing the vehicle back into service:
1. After the batteries have been fully charged/equalized, check the HydroLink™ water
level indicator on each battery and refill water if needed.
2. Return the vehicle to its regular service
3. Restart the vehicle’s regular watering schedule (waiting at least 1 week until next
watering).
3.8 General information about Trojan® T-875 batteries
• A new battery will not deliver its full rated capacity. This is normal and should be
expected as the battery needs to be ‘worked up’ over time.
• Trojan® batteries take between 50-100 cycles to ‘work up’ before providing full
peak capacity.
• When operating batteries at temperatures below 80°F (27°C), they will deliver
less than the rated capacity. For example at 0°F (-18°C), batteries will deliver
50% of its capacity and at 80°F (27°C) at battery will deliver 100% of its capacity.
• When operating batteries at temperatures above 80°F (27°C), they will deliver
more than the rated capacity, but the life of the batteries will be reduced.
The life time of a battery can be difficult to predict as, among other things, it varies
with charging cycles, frequency of usage and level of maintenance.
