Step 6.

Set a Side Rail into the notch on one side of the Short Legs.

The Axle Clamp should be closest to the Short Legs and facing up
(Figure 4).

Important:

The angled, predrilled holes in the Side Rails

must face the inside and be at the Tall Legs end, as shown in Figure
5 detail and labeled "Long Screws." The end of the Side Rail should
be positioned just above the aluminum angle, as shown in the
Figure 4 detail.

Step 7:

Prop the end of the Side Rail in place or ask a helper to hold it

while you insert the screws. Use 4 Long Screws to attach the Side
Rail to the Short Leg and the Tall Leg.

Tip:

 Insert the Long Screws

following the 1-2-3-4 order shown in Figure 4 and detail. Repeat to
attach the second Side Rail.

Step 8.

Place the Axle through the Axle Clamps, but do not fasten

them down yet. Slide a Wheel onto each end of the Axle, then
center the Axle so that you can access the hole at each end. Use
short Phillips Screws to fasten down the Axle Clamps.

Tip:

Insert a

screw into the open hole of the clamp and tighten it down before
tightening the pre-inserted screw.

Step 9.

Insert Cotter Pins into the holes at each end of the Axle. Use

pliers to spread the pin apart and bend the ends around the Axle.

Tip:

 It's easier to work

with two pairs of pliers.

Step 10.

Turn the U-Garden right side up. Attach the Handle by inserting the 4 Bolts through

the handle and into the preinstalled T-Nuts on the End Panel (Figure 5).

Step 11.

Insert the Corner Caps into the tops of the aluminum corners and push them into

place. Insert the Aluminum Vent into the hole in the Vented End Panel and push into place.

Step 12.

Arrange the Fabric Liner in the box and staple or tape it to hold it in place while you

fill with planting mix. The Fabric Liner should be below the soil surface.

Step 13.

Fill with approximately 10 cubic feet of moistened planting mix. Blend a lightweight, soilless mix, such as our Container Mix

or Eco-co

®

Coir, with compost or composted manure. Add granular organic fertilizer, such as our All-Purpose 5-5-5 Fertilizer, and

blend well.

Care and Maintenance

•  To preserve and enhance the golden color of the cedar, finish the wood with a food-safe preservative, such as our Cedar Garden

Bed Oil. The wood will age to a weathered gray if left untreated and exposed to the elements.

•  Revitalize the planting mix in your U-Garden at the beginning of each growing season by adding compost and fertilizer. Our Raised

Bed Booster Kit contains everything you need.

•  For additional time, space and water-saving efficiency, consider adding our irrigation system designed just for this raised bed, plus

a water timer, and our Space-Maker Pivoting Trellis.
