4. Mount the new chain
s
via the stop at the front
(A)
of the bar
e
, and
ensure the direction of movement of the chain and that the stop
at the front faces upwards.
5. Place the bar
e
on the motor unit
1
in such a way that the bolt
h
is inserted in the bar
e
and the chain
s
is placed around the drive
sprocket
g
.
6. Replace the lid
a
(taking care of the rubber sealing gasket) and fasten
slightly with the two screws
p
.
7. Tension the chain.
Tensioning the chain [ Fig. M5 / M6 ]:
RISK OF BURN INJURIES!
A too tightly tensioned chain can lead to motor overload and damage,
whereas insufficient tensioning can cause the chain to jump off the
rail. A correctly tensioned chain offers the best cutting performance,
optimum battery life and a longer service
life. Therefore, you should check the tensioning regularly as the chain
may expand when being used (especially when the chain is new; follow-
ing first installation, the tensioning of the chain must be checked after
the chainsaw has been used for a few minutes).
v
However, do not tension the chain immediately after use but
wait until it has cooled down.
1. Lift the chain
s
off the bar
e
in the middle of the bar. The gap should
be approx. 2 – 3 mm.
2. Turn the adjustment screw
j
clockwise when the tensioning of the
chain is too low, or turn the adjustment screw
j
anticlockwise when
the tensioning of the chain is too strong.
3. Screw on the lid
a
.
4. Start the device for approx. 10 sec.
5. Check the tensioning of the chain again and re-adjust, if necessary.
To clean the battery and the battery charger:
Make sure that the surface and the contacts of the battery and the battery
charger always are clean and dry before you connect the battery charger.
Do not use running water.
v
Clean the contacts and the plastic parts with a soft and dry cloth.
6. STORAGE
To put into storage [ Fig. O7 ]:
The product must be stored away from children.
1. Remove and charge battery (see 3. INITIAL OPERATION).
2. Clean Pole Pruner (see 5. MAINTENANCE), and slide protective
cover
w
onto the bar and close until the snap fit engages.
3. Store Pole Pruner in a dry and frost-free location.
Disposal:
(in accordance with RL2012/19/EC)
The product must not be disposed of to normal household
waste. It must be disposed of in line with local environmental
regulations.
IMPORTANT!
v
Dispose of the product through or via your municipal recycling
collection centre.
Disposal of the battery:
Li-ion
The GARDENA battery contains lithium-ion cells that should
not be disposed of with normal household waste at the end of
its life.
IMPORTANT!
v
Dispose of the batteries through or via your municipal recycling
collection centre.
1. Discharge the lithium-ion cells completely (contact the GARDENA
Service).
2. Protect the contacts on the lithium-ion cells against short circuits.
3. Dispose of the lithium-ion cells properly.
7. TROUBLESHOOTING
DANGER! Risk of injury!
Cut injury when the Pole Pruner switches on unintentionally.
v
Before performing troubleshooting work, remove the battery
(see 3. INITIAL OPERATION), and slide the protective cover
w
onto the bar and close until the snap fit engages [ Fig. O7 ].
