FUEL INSTALLATION
11.1.
Fuel tanks
The boat is equipped with two fuel tanks, one to port (350 litres) and the other to starboard
(350 litres), aft of the water tanks.
Filling is done on both tanks. A transfer pump allows distribution of fuel between the two
tanks.
The fuel transfer pump is located in the forward part of the companionway.
The switch for the transfer pump is located in the main electrical panel.
PRECAUTION
Ensure that the block valves on the tanks are opened before the transfer.
When sailing, close the block valves to prevent the flow of fuel from one tank to another
by gravity.
When you fill one tank from the other be sure to stop the transfer pump when the tank is
full
Similarly, when you fill the port tank via the transfer pump, be sure to stop the pump
when the port tank is full, at the risk of spilling diesel through the reservoir vent
The transfer pump must never run dry. For safety, turn off the circuit breaker of the
transfer pump when the pump is not used.
