7.2. LIFTING AND TRANSPORTING A WORKPIECE

CAUTION
Insufficient load capacity
Crush hazard due to falling workpieces.
»
Do not exceed the maximum load capacity and maximum dimensions.
» Pole shoes or magnet must be in contact with the workpiece over an area which is as large as possible and has the same
dimensions.
» Do not position the magnet over large holes or openings in the workpiece.
» Do not position the magnet with its long face towards the longitudinal direction of the workpiece.
ü Contact area between magnet and workpiece cleaned.
ü Workpiece does not exceed a temperature of 80 °C.
1. Position the magnet above the centre of gravity of the workpiece.
» The magnet must remain horizontal throughout the lifting process.
2. Swing the switch lever through 135° anticlockwise to "ON" at the stop position.
» The safety locking bar retracts automatically then moves forward again.
3. Once the safety locking bar has locked in position, release the switch lever.
4. To check secure attachment, use the magnet to raise the workpiece a few centimetres, then cautiously strike the work-
piece.
