10) Remember if you wish to re-boil the water, put the main switch of the kettle to the “ON” posi
-
tion.
11) The kettle may be switch off at any time by either pushing the main switch of the kettle to the
“OFF” position.
12) When water boils, the steam passes through the steam channel and then switches off the
kettle. To pour out the water, lift the kettle from the basement.
13) When pouring out the water incline the kettle slightly and gradually. Do not forget that hot
water is inside.
14) An automatic safety boil-dry cut-out has been fitted for protection against overheating: It will
also operate if the kettle is switched on when containing insufficient amount water. Always
ensure that the water inside the kettle covers the minimum mark on the water level indicator
scale. If the cut-out has switched, switch the kettle off, disconnect from the power outlet and
allow the kettle to cool down for 5 to 10 minutes. Then refill it with sufficient amout of water
and switch it on; the kettle will then boil and cut off as in normal operation.
Cleaning and Maintenance
1) Before cleaning or storing the kettle, unplug it and wait until it cools down completely.
2) To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not clean the exterior of the unit, its base or its power
cord with water, and do not immerse it in water. The exterior of the kettle may be cleaned
with a slightly damp non-abrasive lint-free cloth without additives.
3) The filter may be removed for cleaning purposes. To do this, place the filter vertically, pull
upwards and draw out. Wash the outside of the filter in the water flow.
4) Refit all parts when they are completely dry.
5) It is important to do the decalcification in the hard water areas regularly to keep the kettle
in good working condition, because too much scale inside may cause the incorrect function
of the kettle. For the best performance of your kettle, decalcify the unit regulary from time to
time. The frequency depends on the hardness of your tap water and how many times you
have used the kettle. Decalcification will clean the interior of the unit.
This may be done in the following manner:
–
Fill the kettle in the middle with ordinary tap water.
–
Add 30 ml of white vinegar to the water in the kettle.
–
Boil the mixture and let it stand for 30 seconds.
–
Repeat this process two or three times. Empty out the kettle, rinse it well and use the kettle
in the normal way.
Troubleshooting
