4. MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS. RECOMMENDATIONS.
In order for the equipment to ha ve a long life we must
follow some essentia l rules for ma intena nce a nd use. Abide
by these recommenda tions.
CORRECT MAINTENANCE OF THE EQ UIPMENT WILL
AVOID A GREAT PERCENTAGE OF FAULTS.

Before ca rrying out a ny opera tion on the ma chine or
welding ca bles, we must pla ce the switch of the equipment
in "O" position of ma chine disconnected.
Specia lized personnel must ha ndle the ma chine to ca rry
out ma intena nce a nd repa ir opera tions.
BLOW THE INSIDE OF THE MACHINE WITH
COMPRESSED AIR FROM TIME TO TIME.
The a ccumula tion of meta l dust on the inside is one of the
ma in ca uses of brea kdowns in this type of equipment a s
they a re subject to a grea t a mount of pollution. As a n
essentia l mea sure, the equipment must be kept sepa ra te
from the welding pla ce, not pla cing it a short dista nce
a wa y. Keeping the ma chine clea n a nd dry is essentia l. The
inside must be blown a s required. We must a void a ny
a noma ly or deteriora tion due to the a ccumula tion of dust.
Blow the inside of the equipment with clea n dry
compressed a ir. As routine to gua ra ntee tha t the
equipment works correctly, check tha t once the ma chine
ha s been blown the electrica l connections a re still properly
tightened.

ha s tota lly cooled it.
KEEP THE WELDING ACCESSORIES IN
GOOD CONDITIONS FOR USE.
ONCE THE WELDING OPERATION HAS
FINISHED AVOID DIRECT CONTACT OF THE
ELECTRODE-HOLDER CLAMP WITH THE
WELDING EARTH CLAMP AND THE OTHER PARTS
CONNECTED TO IT.
KEEP THE WELDING GUN IN GOOD
CONDITIONS FOR USE.
A da maged or worn gun can cause inefficient
welding.
WHEN FINISHING THE WELDING
OPERATION MAKE SURE THAT THE TORCH CATCH
IS UNLOCKED. (If mechanical lock guns are used)

The user is responsible for the insta lla tion a nd use of the
welding ma teria l a ccording to the instructions in this
ma nua l a nd the following recommenda tions.
Before insta lling the welding ma teria l, the presence of the
following in the surrounding a rea must be kept in mind:
•
Wiring for power, control, signa lling, a nd telephones.
•
Ra dio a nd television receivers a nd tra nsmitters.
•
Computers a nd other control equipment.
•
Critica l security equipment.
•
People with pa ce ma kers or hea ring a ids.
•
Mea surement a nd ca libra tion equipment.
In order to reduce EMC problems, keep in mind the time
of da y when welding or other a ctivities will be ca rried out.
Move possible interference victims a wa y from the welding
insta lla tion.
ALWAYS CONNECT THE MACHINE TO POWER
USING AN EFFICIENT EARTH TAP.
IF PROTECTIVE DEVICES OR SUPPLEMENTARY
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FILTERS ARE NEEDED,
CONSULT OUR TECHNICAL SERVICE.
PERFORM THE MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS
DESCRIBED IN THIS MANUAL.
USE THE SHORTEST WELDING WIRES POSSIBLE
AND KEEP THEM PLACED NEXT TO EACH OTHER
NEAR THE FLOOR.
EQ UIPMENT FORESEEN FOR USE IN INDUSTRIAL
ENVIRONMENT. ELECTROMAGNETIC DIFFICULTIES
MAY EXIST IN OTHER ENVIRONMENTS CAUSED BY
CONDUCTED AND RADIATED DISTURBANCES.
IF THE WELDING PIECE IS GROUNDED, KEEP IN
MIND OPERATOR SAFETY AND NATIONAL
REGULATIONS.
