ITR1000-001 Basic Tone Remote Desk Set

Settings and Adjustments
The desk set housing must be open with the circuit board exposed. These procedures assume that the
base station has been properly adjusted.
Line (Receive Audio) Input Level Adjustment
This ensures that the tone remote desk set compression amplifier circuitry operates properly on signals
from the base station.
1.
Adjust the base station level by applying an RF signal modulated with a 1000 Hz tone at rated system
deviation to the base station receiver.
2.
Adjust the base station output control for the desired level (e.g.
−
10 dBm) to the audio control line.
Do not exceed the line supplier's recommended maximum operating level.
Remote Adjustment:
1.
Connect an ac voltmeter to TPC1 on the main circuit board.
2.
Starting with the line input control (pot 3) rotated fully clockwise, adjust the line input control until
the ac voltage level across the meter just stops increasing at approximately
−
2 dBm.
3.
Remove the RF signal from the base station.
Line Output (Transmit) Level Adjustment
This process ensures the correct audio signal level is output to the remote control line during
transmission.
1.
Disconnect the handset from the desk set.
2.
Apply a 1000 Hz at 44 mV ac signal into the handset mic terminals (red = handset mic; black =
ground).
3.
Press the
TRANSMIT
button and adjust the line output level control (pot 4) on the main circuit board
until the desired output is obtained (e.g.
−
10 dBm) to the remote control line. Do not exceed the line
supplier's recommended maximum level.
4.
Remove the signal from the handset mic terminals and reconnect the handset.
