Minimum Spaces – See Figure 1
The minimum spaces that must be maintained
between the appliance cooking surface and the
horizontal surface above the cooking top shall be:
A = 30 inches (762 mm) minimum clearance
between the top of the cooking surface and the
bottom of an unprotected wood or metal cabinet; or
A = 24 inches (600 mm) minimum when bottom of
wood or metal cabinet is protected by no less than
1/4-inch-thick flame-retardant millboard covered
with no less than No. 28 MSG sheet steel, 0.015-
inch-thick stainless steel, 0.024-inch-thick
aluminimum, or 0.020-inch-thick copper.
If an electrically heated warming tray is provided on
the back guard of a counter level range, the
dimension shall be A = 30 inches (762 mm).
WARNIN G
If installing between two parallel side walls or
cabinets, the wall or cabinets should be spaced at
least 4 inches (100 mm) apart to reduce the risk of
ignition of surrounding combustible materials.

" (40 mm), on the
electricity connection terminal 3" (75 mm).
Minimum distance of the cut-out to side walls or
furniture parts: 4" (100 mm).
The units into which the cooktop is built must be
heat resistant up to 200°F / 90°C.
Cut out the units and the worktop before
fitting the cooktop. Remove shav ings as they
can af fect the function of electrical
components. The s t ability of the furniture
being worked on mus t also be ensured
fo llowing the cut-outs.
Seal the cut surfaces with heat resistant sealer to
prevent them from swelling as a result of moisture.
Seal the tile joints on tiled work surfaces with
silicone rubber.
Fitting and Connecting the Cooktop
Observe rating plate data for voltage and total
rating.
Hardwire required. Connection point must be rated
50 Amps or higher.
Impor t ant :
Only connect in accordance with the
connection diagram. Fit the enclosed copper
bridges as required.
Do not trap the lead during installation and do not
guide it over sharp edges.
1
Check appliance for any transport damage.
2
Insert the cooktop into the cut-out and align it.
Secure the appliance with the clamping screws
included.
3
Connect the cooktop to the power supply.
Check for correct functioning. If
U400
appears
in the display when the mains voltage has been
switched on, the cooktop has not been
connected properly. Disconnect the cooktop
from the power supply immediately and check
the connection.
Removing the Cooktop
Disconnect the cooktop from the power supply.
Undo all the clamping screws. Push out the cooktop
from below.
N ote:
Do not lever the cooktop out of the worktop using a
tool.
