3.8 Stabilization
(heaving
compensation)
The stabilization feature is available with connection of a satellite compass (SC-50/SC-110) to
the NMEA port and functions to compensate for ship's heaving. Set NMEA output from the
satellite compass as below and follow the accompanying procedure to compensate for heaving.

1. Turn on the power.
2. Set the FUNCTION control to the MENU position.
3. Press the [

] key to set the cursor on the top line
and then hit the [+] key to select SYSTEM.
4. Press the [

] key to select STABILIZATION.
5. Press the [+] key to show the STABILIZATION
menu.
6. Press the [
▼
] key to select STABILIZATION and
press the [+] key.
7. Use [+] or [-] key to choose OFF or ON as
appropriate and press the [
▼
] key to confirm
setting.
8. Press the [
▼
] key to choose SENSOR and press
the [+] key.
9. Use the [-] or [+] key to choose satellite compass
model to use and press the [
▼
] key to confirm
setting.
10. Press the [
▼
] key to choose ANT-TD LONG. and
press the [+] key.
11. Use the [-] or [+] key to enter the distance from the
antenna of the satellite compass to this transducer in the fore-aft direction. Enter a "plus"
value if the transducer is closer to the bow than the antenna.
12. Press the [
▼
] key to confirm setting.
13. Press the [
▼
] key to choose ANT-TD TRNSV. and press the [+] key.
14. Use the [-] or [+] key to enter the distance from the antenna of the satellite compass to the
transducer in the port-starboard direction. Enter a "plus" value if the transducer is closer to
starboard than the antenna.
15. Press the [

] key to confirm setting.
16. Press the [
▼
] key to choose ANT-TD HEIGHT and press the [+] key.
17. Use the [-] or [+] key to enter the distance from the antenna of the satellite compass to this
transducer in the vertical direction.
