Voice communication without Webnet Client support
Voice communication between the call station and a handset without oper-
ator actions on a Webnet Client workstation involves the following steps on
the call station:
Setting up the
connection and
making a call
Versions of a connection set-up:
•
Outgoing full-duplex connection as for a telephone connection:
–
Enter the group phone number or subscriber phone number.
–
Pick up the handset of the call station.
–
Press the [Pick-up] button.
–
Wait for the subscriber who is being called to accept the call.
–
Make the call.
•
Incoming full-duplex connection as for a telephone connection:
–
Rings
–
Pick up the handset of the call station.
–
Press the [Pick-up] button.
–
Make the call.
•
Outgoing semi-duplex connection as for a walkie-talkie: (two-way
communication):
–
Enter the group phone number or subscriber phone number.
–
Press and hold the PTT button. Speak to the subscriber who is being
called.
–
Have a two-way conversation. The subscriber who is speaking keeps
the PTT button pressed while speaking. The subscriber who is
listening leaves the PTT button released.
•
Incoming semi-duplex connection as for a telephone connection:
–
An alerting signal sounds.
–
The subscriber who is calling speaks.
–
Wait until the subscriber who is calling pauses after speaking and has
released the PTT button on his/her device.
–
Keep the PTT button on the handset (red) or on the call station
(green) pressed and reply.
–
Release the PTT button and wait until the subscriber who is calling
answers on his/her side, pauses after speaking and has released the
PTT button on his/her device.
–
Proceed with the two-way conversation according to the above-
mentioned pattern...

Notes for use of the PTT buttons in the case of semi-duplex calls:
–
1. Option: Use the handset and the red button (talk button) on the
handset.
–
2. Option: Use the gooseneck microphone and green PTT button (talk
button)
