TPM (Security Chip) Setting
The "TPM (Security Chip) Setting" submenu contains the following items:
Current TPM State
Shows the current TPM state (
Disabled & Deactivated
,
Enabled &
Activated
,
No State
).
Security Chip
specifies whether the Trusted Platform module can be used (Enabled) or
is switched off (Disabled). The Trusted Platform module is available as a
secure memory for secret keys. For example, data can be generated
which can only be read or run on this system. The support of security
protocols, such as SSL (Secure Socket Layer) for Internet connections,
IPSec (LAN encryption), S-MIME (email encryption, WLAN encryption
and others) is also possible.
Disabled
Trusted Platform Module function is deactivated.
Enabled
Trusted Platform Module function is activated.
