A family picnic or an endless landscape, a sports event
or a candid portrait — your photographic subjects are
as varied as the world you live in. That’s why you need
this 3

×

optical zoom lens. You’ll have a zooming range

equivalent to the 35–105 mm coverage of a 35 mm
camera, and you can use the Digital 2

×

Telephoto

Mode to create the feel of a 210 mm telephoto image.
There’s also a Macro Mode for extreme close-ups.
Adjusting the focal length is so smooth and fast that it
takes only 2 sec. to move from the wide-angle to tele-
photo setting.

This creativity and versatility are combined with

all the quality of a Fujinon lens design acclaimed for
its performance in professional broadcast cameras.
Optical resolution is even higher than it is in some
SLR lenses. And telephoto distortion has been cut to
only –0.2%, even with the large-diameter lens.

When you
examine an
image from
the MX-600
Zoom, you’ll
find it looks
like life itself.
This perfor-
mance starts
with a 1/1.7-

inch CCD that has 1.5 million square pixels. Fujifilm’s
original CCD pre-amplifier delivers a high S/N ratio.
And the spectral characteristics of the RGB primary-
color filter have been optimized to capture every
nuance so colors come out just as you saw them.

With the MX-600 Zoom, precision won’t slow you

down the way it does with other megapixel models. To
accelerate processing and storage, there are two high-
speed performance RISC processors with on-board
DRAM. Along with boosting performance, they work
with an original algorithm to ensure that images are
sharp and true.

C O O L   C O N T R O L
If you’re serious about digital photography, the MX-
600 Zoom is the clear choice. The full range of manual
functions gives you complete control over the expo-
sure, flash settings, white balance and more. When you
take advantage of the possibilities, you and everyone
else will know that the image is all yours.

Aperture-Priority AE

Choose this mode when you want to emphasize your
subject with either the F3.8 or F7.6 aperture at the
wide-angle setting. With this added control over the
depth of field, you can create a special kind of mood —
the key to expressive portraits and other shots.

Slow Synchro

Along with the
convenience of
the built-in
Auto Flash,
you’ll have the

creative edge of manual flash photography including
the Slow Synchro Mode. It slows the shutter speed so
you can capture the backdrop during the evening.

External Synchro-Flash

Use this mode to produce striking effects with an
external flash. Direct the illumination from a dramatic
angle, use a bounce flash for uniform lighting . . . your
ideas are the only limit!

Just point and shoot — it’s as easy as that to take great
shots with the MX-600 Zoom. Beginners always like
simple operation, while advanced digital photogra-
phers appreciate the ways they can concentrate on the
subject instead of the controls.

Quickly and accurately, the high-speed CCD

Autofocus System measures the distance, and the
Program AE System uses TTL (through-the-lens)
metering to check the light in 64 zones. That way you
can be sure the combination of aperture/shutter settings
is based on the entire image, not just the center.

The interface is friendly, too. Use the Mode Dial

and the Four-Direction Key to choose the modes you
want — shooting, flash, playback and others. Ergo-
nomically designed for convenient operation, they
make the MX-600 Zoom’s intelligence feel natural.

didn’t fit in the frame. With the

those disappointments are over

for good. You’ll have a 3

lens, megapixel image quality

and thoroughgoing creative con-

trol. Most of all, you’ll have the

power to go the distance.

The fun and effects have only begun when you capture
an image. The MX-600 Zoom comes with new Soft

Focus Filter and Cross
Filter to create special
effects. Adding to
your choices, they
make the most of the
digital dimension in
imaging.

You can bring your

talents to playback as
well. In addition to
Auto and Single-
Frame, there’s
Playback Zoom to
enlarge an image up to
4

and then zoom in.

Or choose Multi-

Frame to show an array of nine shots simultaneously.

Most of the time, you’ll probably check images on

the 1.8-inch color LCD monitor. But the MX-600
Zoom also has the solution when you want to share
them with family, friends or business associates. Just
connect the video output terminal directly to a TV
monitor and let the show begin!

The MX-600 Zoom stores images on a removable
SmartMedia™ Card that you can replace when it’s
full. Available in versions that hold from 4 MB to 16
MB, the cards are incredibly small and thin, so it’s
easy to take extras along.

They also make it easy to transfer data to your PC.

Just insert the card in the optional Floppy Disk Adapter
and put it in the floppy disk drive. (If you use a note-
book computer a lot, you might want the optional PC
Card Adapter.) There’s a cable as well for quick down-
loads from the camera’s serial port.

Once you’ve input the data, you’ll be ready to use

almost any of today’s graphics software to edit the
images — cut a section, create a collage, add text or
whatever you think of. Of course, it’s also simple to
send image files as e-mail attachments so others can
enjoy them.

The Digital Printer NX-70 from Fujifilm is the ideal
choice for output from the MX-600 Zoom and
other Fujifilm digital cameras. It has a
SmartMedia™ Card slot, so you can
print directly without bothering to trans-
fer data to a PC. And you can count on its
306 dpi resolution and Fujifilm’s own
Thermo-Autochrome (TA) paper for photo-
like quality. The Active-Compensation System
optimizes the data before printing, while the
High-Chroma Processing System uses direct
mapping to enhance color reproduction.

There’s a function for multiple 2-cut, 4-cut or

16-cut output of the same image or different ones on a
single sheet. You can also print on these three varieties
of sticker sheets to add to the fun or make a stronger
impression in business. To simplify handling, the paper
cassette holds 20 sheets for continuous printing.
