Using the menus is a six-step process:
Use the Mode switch to select a camera mode.
Press the Menu/OK button.
Use the arrow buttons to highlight an item in the menu.
Use the Menu/OK button to choose the item.
Use the arrow buttons to highlight a setting.
Press the Menu/OK button to confirm the setting.
Viewfinder
The optical viewfinder lets you compose your picture without using the LCD monitor, saving
battery power.
Viewfinder lamp
The viewfinder lamp provides information on camera status. Lamp displays and associated
camera states are:
Lit green:
Camera is ready to shoot.
Blinking green:
AF/AE in progress, camera shake warning, or AF warning (camera is ready to
shoot).
Blinking green and orange alternately:
Recording to xD-Picture Card (camera is ready to
shoot).
Lit orange:
Recording to xD-Picture Card (camera is not ready to shoot).
Blinking orange:
Charging the flash (flash will not fire).
Flashing green (1-second intervals):
Camera in Power Save mode. While the light is flashing,
you can restore the camera to fully active status by pressing the Shutter button down halfway.
After the camera switches off, turn the power off and back on again.
Blinking red:
xD-Picture Card warnings (no card loaded, card not formatted, card full, etc.) or
lens operation error. The LCD monitor displays detailed warning messages.
