Overview of Authentication Feature
Types of Users
The users include the System Administrator, Login User, Unregistered User, and Local
User.
For more information about the feature, refer to "User Types Managed by Authentication Feature"
(P.368).
User Role/Authorization Group
Allows you to assign a user role and an authorization group to each user.
When you assign [System Administrator] in [User Role] to a user, for example, the user
has almost the same privileges as the System Administrator.

Types of Authentication
The machine supports two authentication types: [Login to Local Accounts] that
authenticates users based on the user information registered on the machine, and
[Login to Remote Accounts] that authenticates users based on the user information
registered on a remote server.

The available remote servers are LDAP, Kerberos, SMB, and ApeosWare Authentication
Management or ApeosWare Authentication Agent servers.
Access Control
Allows you to prohibit the operation of the control panel buttons.
For more information, refer to "Device Access" (P.257).
Allows you to configure whether to restrict the availability per service such as Copy,
Fax, and Scan.
For more information about the feature, refer to "Service Access" (P.257).
Allows you to restrict users from printing or retrieving files stored in folders per user.
For more information about the feature, refer to "Feature Access" (P.258).
Account Limit for Each User

Allows you to restrict access to each service and to set the maximum number of
pages allowed for the service per user.

Allows you restrict creating/editing/using job flow sheets and folders per user.
