Overview of operation modes 
 

TP-E1U keypad can operate in the modes shown in table 8.2.

Operation mode 

Description 

Running mode

 

The inverter cannot be operated by this keypad. Running mode is only to monitor Run status.   

Programming mode

 

This mode allows you to configure function code data and check a variety of information relating to the inverter status 
and maintenance. 

Alarm mode

 

If  an  alarm  condition  arises,  the  inverter  automatically  enters  Alarm  mode  in  which  you  can  view  the  corresponding 
alarm code* and its related information on the LED monitor.  

*  Alarm code: Indicates the cause of the alarm condition. For details, please refer to Chapter 15. 

 
Figure 8.2 shows the status transition of the inverter between these three operation modes.

Simultaneous keying 

Simultaneous  keying  means  pressing  two  keys  at  the  same  time.  The  simultaneous  keying  operation  is 
expressed by a "+" letter between the keys throughout this manual. 
For example, the expression "

 + 

 keys" stands for pressing the 

 key with the 

 key held down.

USB connectivity 

 

The keypad has an USB port (Mini-B connector) on its front. To connect an USB cable, open the USB port cover as 
shown below. The position of the USB port is shown in figure 8.3.
