3.   First time installation 

When all the connections on the receiver are ready (section 2.2) and the main lead is plugged in, the 
receiver will start up automatically. If this does not happen, press the ON button on the front panel of the 
receiver or on the remote control. A easy installation menu will be displayed where you can set different 
parameters and then run the channel scan: 
1. 

OSD Language

: Use the arrow 

/

 buttons to select a language for the On Screen Display menu 

(OSD). Press 

 to go to the next parameter. 

2. 

Region

: Use the arrow 

/

 buttons to select your Country. Press 

 

to proceed. 

CAUTION 

If the wrong country is selected the channel scan may not detect all the channels available. 

3. 

LCN Mode

: When the Logical Channel Numbering option is active, the channels will be positioned in the 

list with the broadcaster order automatically after the scanning. Press 

 to go forward. 

NOTE 

If the LCN Mode is turn on, we suggest to not change the channel positions in the 

TV/Radio Channel List

 menu.

Tuner Setting

 (Antenna Power): If you have an active antenna press 

/

 to power the antenna, this is 

necessary when, for instance, an indoor amplified antenna that is powered by the receiver. 

CAUTION 

With a traditional antenna, like typical rooftop models, or an independently powered antenna, the antenna power option 
must be set to off: RISK OF OVERLOAD.

Auto Scan

 

Start

: Press OK to start the automatic channel scan.

 

 

LCN Conflict

 (optional): When the LCN function is active (see above point) and two or more 

TV/Radio services ask for the same position on channel list, the receiver will inform about the conflict 
and ask the user for a choice. In particular, a list of the involved services will be shown on screen. 
For every conflict, use the arrow buttons 

/

 to highlight the preferred service and press OK to 

select it. Than press EXIT to save and go to viewing mode. Instead, if the user will not perform a 
choice, after a few seconds the receiver will solve the conflicts automatically.

Additional Settings

: Also check and set properly the receiver clock, such as the 

Summer Time

 option 

(par. 0), and the function of channel auto scan during stand-by (par. 4.2). 

4. Receiver settings 

The first time installation procedure (chapter 3) will allow the receiver to be used with its basic functions. 
However the receiver offers many more advanced features and options that are illustrated in the following 
sections. 

4.1 Receiver Protection 

4.1.1 Password 

To modify some settings on menu and view certain protected services, a password has to be entered. The 
factory set password is “

0000

” (four zeros) but it can be changed by pressing MENU and selecting the 

Setup 

menu and then 

Parental Lock

CAUTION 

Take note and keep the new password in a safe place. If you forget your personal password, use the universal code

4.1.2 Parental Control 

The 

Channel Lock

Parental Lock

 controls the vision of a protected 

service. When this option is set on an age level (default setting=18 years) and an event is transmitted with a 
Parental Control information equal or greater than the age level defined on menu, the receiver will stop the 
vision of the service. To unlock the channel, it’s necessary to digit the password. 

4.1.3  Advanced Menu Protection (Hotel Function) 

The 

Hotel Function

 is a hidden utility, which consists in an advanced protection of the receiver. In particular, 

it hides the menu and allows the user to use basic functions, such as channel zapping an audio volume 
regulation. 
During viewing mode, using the remote control, press RED button and input the system password (par. 4.1) 
right away to enable/disable that function. Then, an information banner will appear on screen.
