Selecting the WiFi Channel
Overview
Wireless LAN uses the frequency range around 2.4 GHz for transmis
sion. In the default setting the FRITZ!Box automatically checks the
wireless environment and selects the optimum wireless channel
settings. In some cases it may be necessary to adjust the WiFi channel
settings.
Automatically configuring wireless channel settings by FRITZ!Box
With the “Set WiFi channel settings automatically” (auto channel)
setting, the FRITZ!Box automatically searches for a channel subject to
the least interference. This process takes into consideration adjacent
wireless networks and other sources of interference (for instance baby
monitors, microwave ovens). Should problems with interference in the
wireless LAN persist despite this setting, try to identify the source of
interference and eliminate it.
