Changing the WLAN Connection of a FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick in FRITZ!WLAN
Changing the WLAN Connection of a FRITZ!WLAN USB
Stick in FRITZ!WLAN
Using a FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick and AVM Stick & Surf
technology, a computer was connected with a FRITZ!Box
that can manage two wireless networks (2.4 and 5 GHz) at
the same time. However, the wireless connection was not
established in the desired frequency range (5 GHz, for
instance), but in the alternative frequency range
(2.4 GHz, for instance).
Upon delivery the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390 is preset to
use the same wireless network name (SSID) and network
key for both wireless networks. The FRITZ!WLAN USB Stick
then always connects with the first wireless network that
matches the security settings. If you have assigned differ-
ent SSIDs to the two wireless networks in your FRITZ!Box,
WLAN connections will be always be established via
Stick & Surf in the 2.4-GHz frequency range.
Proceed as follows to set the desired wireless network
manually:
1.
Open the control software of your FRITZ!WLAN USB
Stick by double-clicking the program icon
in the
notification area of the taskbar.
2.
Click the “Find” button, select the desired wireless
network from the list of accessible remote sites and
then click “Apply”.
3.
In the “Remote Site” window, enter the settings of
the wireless network and confirm your entries with
“OK”.
The desired WLAN connection will be established.
