5.3.3 mktools tool chain
To burn a target file system to the board you need to make an image first. The
“mkyaffs2image-128M” is for for this. It is for creating an yaffs2 image whose page
format is “1 Page= 2K Byte” and block format is “1 Block=128K” for SLC Nand Flash
such as K9F2G08, K9F4G08 and K9K8G08.
You can copy “mktools-YYYYMMDD.tar.gz” in the Android directory in the
shipped CD to /tmp and run the following command to install the mktools tool chain.

ar xvzf /tmp/mktools-YYYYMMDD.tar.gz –C /
This will create tools chain in the “/usr/sbin” directory.
Note: “C” is capitalized and means “change”
. If your system has been installed a
Mini2440 or Mini6410’s mkyaffs2image it will be overwritten. But you don’t need to
worry about it since they are identical
