When you have a leak on the leading edge or central strut, it’s important to follow
the next steps; taking out the bladder from the wing, locate the leak on the
bladder and mark it, repair with the rubber patch and finally put the bladder
inside again. Pump it softly until the bladder is perfectly mounted.
1. Inflate the FreeWing to the recommended pressure and close the interconnect
hose. You will know if the leak is on the center strut (CS) or on the leading ledge
(LE) by seeing which one deflates over time.
2. Make sure the FreeWing is clean, free from debris and dry before starting the
repair job.
3. Remove all air from the FreeWing.
4. Utilize a screw driver to remove the interconnect hose.
5. Make a note or take a picture of the orientation of the main valve in the LE.
6. To remove the LE, carefully remove the Velcro connection between the main
valve and the LE (inside the LE), as well as the nipple from the inter connect hose
on the LE side.
7. Tie a line to the bladder on each side of the LE (wingtips), and take the LE
bladder out through the open zipper. This line will be utilized to reinsert the
bladder.
