SATA Connector (J5)

A SATA connector (J15) is provided on the MCIMX53SMD board and is connected to the SATA module of the
i.MX53 processor. The MCIMX53SMD board is capable of communicating with any standard SATA device (SSD
SATA in the MCIMX53SMD board kit). It is possible to initiate a boot from an attached SATA device. See the
software reference manuals for instructions on how to configure the MCIMX53SMD board for SATA boot. The
SSD SATA is plugged into the MCIMX53SMD board at the location shown in

Figure 4-8

.
