Problem
Solution
The Focus display is not
communicating with the computer.
Make sure JAWS version 13.0.1006
or later is properly installed on your
computer. See the section Adding
JAWS Support to the Focus Display
for more information on configuring
both USB and Bluetooth. If you are
using a third-party screen reading
application, you must install the
driver from the Focus Companion CD
before you can use the display.
I want as many cells as possible to
contain braille as I pan through text.
Turn off the Word Wrap option,
located in the Braille group of the
JAWS Settings Center. When
disabled, JAWS no longer insures
that an entire word will fit onto the
display. Instead, JAWS attempts to fit
as much text on the braille display as
possible. If a word is too long, you
will need to pan to the next
increment to view the rest of the
word. For more information, refer to
