INSTALLATION

WARNING:

Make sure the pump electrical supply circuit is

equipped with fuses or circuit breakers of proper capacity. A
separate branch circuit is recommended, sized according to the
National Electric Code for the current shown on the pump nameplate
and literature.

WARNING:

The IGP-A-RFK has a full load amp (FLA) rating of 13.9.

This product must be installed according to National Electric Code
(NEC) guidelines. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure
that the existing wiring and circuit breakers are adequate to meet
these guidelines.

WARNING:

Electrical wiring and enclosures must be in accordance

with the National Electric Code and any other applicable state and
electrical requirements. Before servicing a pump always shut off
the main power breaker – making sure you are wearing insulated
protective sole shoes and not standing in water. Under flooded
conditions, contact your local electrical company or a qualified
licensed electrician to disconnect electrical service before removing
the pump. Refer to the original installation/service manual for any
precautions that need to be followed. (For example, the pump could
have more than one power source or connection.)

Remove electrical power to the panel and pump.
Check the existing electrical panel to ensure that breakers and
wire gauges meet or exceed National Electric Code (NEC)
guidelines.
If water is present in the basin, drain it to the level of the intake
using an external pump or vacuum. Dispose of all septic in
accordance with local, state, and national codes.

Disconnect the electrical quick-disconnect plug located inside
the basin, if applicable.
Remove the bolts securing the existing assembly, if
applicable.
Rotate the ball valve lever to the CLOSED position.
Remove the existing pump assembly from the basin and set
it aside.
Remove the packaging from the kit, retaining the assembly
pack and instructions.
Thoroughly read the pump owner’s manual to familiarize
yourself with its operation.
Attach the discharge assembly to the discharge pipe (protruding
through the plate assembly), applying Teflon tape to form an
adequate seal. Position the fitting away from the center of the
plate once tightened completely (Fig. 1).
Remove the nameplate from the cord and set it aside.
Apply gasket tape to the bottom perimeter of the plate
assembly.
Use an awl or similar tool to poke through the gasket tape at
the bolt holes on the plate assembly perimeter. This will allow
the bolts to be installed through the cover and into the basin.
Apply Magic Lube (included) to the O-rings on the discharge
assembly to help the component slide into place.
Use the rope to lift the kit into the basin and lower it into
place.
Align the tabs on the plate to the slots on the basin.
Align the discharge fitting to the ball valve on the basin, and
lower in completely. The assembly should rest on the plate,
with the discharge fitting nesting into the existing ball valve
fitting.
Connect the 6-pin plug and receptacle, and tighten the
screws.
Install the 6 bolts (included) through the plate and into the
basin, then tighten them.
Restore electricity to the panel and pump.
Fill the basin with water and observe that the pump operates
properly. If the pump does not operate properly, refer to the
troubleshooting section of the pump owner’s manual.
Replace the basin lid and lock the unit, if applicable.
Affix the pump nameplate (included) to the existing control box
or panel so that the pump can be identified.

NOTE TO INSTALLER:

Please provide this manual and the pump

owner’s manual to the home owner or the party responsible for
