It is important to always clean the OptiProbe tip before placing into the reference position. Never
leave any sample material on the end. It is wise to clean the end thoroughly, then wipe dry with a
non-linting laboratory tissue or other type of wipe.
To clean the internal reflectance reference, follow these steps:
1.
Remove the OptiProbe from the reference
position, and place it in a secure place
where it will not fall or be damaged.
2.
Lift the release handle, then remove the
OptiProbe module from the
monochromator.
3.
Gently lift the module onto its left side,
with the blue housing upward.
4.
Gently pry the large black cap off the back
of the module as shown.
5.
Lift the sample drawer upward, out of the
way. (Hold in this position.)
