1 GENERAL
This manual contains information about the PM834, which is a family of electronic
electricity meters manufactured by Fengyilong.
The purpose of this manual is to give the user a good overview and understanding
of the functions and features that PM834 offers. The end goal is to help the user to
use the meter in the most optimal and correct way and to give the proper service
and support to maintain the highest stability and lifetime.
The degree of the PM834 functions is controlled by its hardware (electronic boards,
mechanics, etc), software (resided in a small computer inside the meter) and the
meter type specific programming done when it is produced (stored in a non-volatile
EEPROM memory).
WARNING!
The voltages connected to the PM834 are dangerous and can be lethal.
Therefore it must be insured that the terminals are not touched during operation.
When installing the PM834 all voltages must be switched off.
2 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This chapter contains a description of the basic functions and practical handling of
the PM834.
2.1 FAMILY OVERVIEW
PM834 is an electronic electricity meter for 3-phase metering and is designed in
accordance with the Fengyilong PROM standard.
PM834 can not only measure energy but also other data, such as voltage,
current, power, power factor and frequency. Meter can display 32 items. The
display time of every item is 5 seconds.
PM834 has a temperature range from –10 to +65º C (s70º C).
PM834 has 2 ways to communicate:
- Display at front
- Pulse output
The PM834 transformer connected meter has two function buttons that are used to
set the current transformer ratio. The buttons can be sealed by mounting a
sealable terminal cover or by mounting the PM834 in a modular enclosure.
PM834 meter types are tested and approved according to:
- IEC 62052-11 and 62053-21
- Measurement instrument directive (MID), category A and B, electrical
environmental class E2 and electrical environmental class M2
- EN 50470-1, EN 50470-3 category A and B.
