Forced Limited RPM and Forced Idle Mode
The Forced Limited RPM and Forced Idle Mode is the second mode.
•
In the Forced Limited RPM and Forced Idle Mode, the warning to the driver is:
– Amber wrench or Message Center text ‘‘Engine Failsafe Mode.’’
•
The fail-safe action is:
– With or without power to ETB motor, the throttle plate is fixed at an angle of eight degrees.
– Control based on zero accelerator pedal position.
– Limited engine speed to a fixed low speed.
– Cruise control off.
•
This failure is due to one or more of the following system faults:
– TPPC processor loss of control.
– Two TP sensors out of range.
– Miswired ETB motor and TP sensors.
– Two or more APPS sensor failed.
– PCM or E-Quizzer processor analog to digital chip failure.
