1.6L EcoBoost I-4
• 178 horsepower @ 5700 rpm
(1)
• 184 lb.-ft. of torque @ 2500 rpm
(1)
• Engine block is high-pressure die-cast aluminum for
strength and light weight
• Electronic throttle control (ETC)
• Lightweight composite intake manifold helps reduce
vehicle weight and improve fuel efficiency
• Powertrain control module (PCM) makes real-time
adjustments to the fuel delivery/air mixture and
spark timing to deliver a fun-to-drive and fuel-
responsible engine and transmission combination
• Front-end accessory drive (FEAD) belt technology
eliminates the need for a belt tensioner for driving
the alternator, water pump and A/C compressor
accessory drive pulleys, helping reduce overall
vehicle weight and improving fuel efficiency
• Mated to the 6-speed SelectShift automatic
transmission
2.0L EcoBoost I-4
• 240 horsepower @ 5500 rpm
(1)
• 270 lb.-ft. of torque @ 3000 rpm
(1)
– Delivers a broad, flat torque curve with maximum
torque through the powerband for sustained
acceleration
• Cast-iron crankshaft, balance shaft and silent chain
cam drive system contribute to reduced NVH and
improved durability
• Fail-safe engine cooling system
• Integrated exhaust manifold
– Helps reduce weight
– Enhances exhaust flow for efficiency
– Helps enhance durability
• Fast-acting “gooseneck” turbo connects directly to
exhaust manifold
– Funnels exhaust energy at the turbine for quicker
response
– Withstands higher temperatures for increased
durability and reliability, thanks to cast stainless
steel turbine housing
– Features oil lubrication system and is water-cooled
to help ensure long life
• Mated to the 6-speed SelectShift automatic
transmission
Shared EcoBoost Engine Technologies

ENGINEERING INSIGHT
2.0L EcoBoost Exhaust Manifold Water Jacket
The exhaust manifold is integrated with the cast
aluminum cylinder head and is surrounded by a
coolant jacket or water jacket. The purpose of this
water jacket is to keep cylinder head temperatures
down since the cylinder head is integrated with the
exhaust manifold and the exhaust gases exiting the
cylinders are extremely hot.
