PARKING AIDS

*

With the front, rear and side parking aids, a
warning tone sounds if there is an obstacle
near either bumper or near the sides of
your vehicle. The warning tone increases
in frequency as the object gets closer. The
front sensors are active when the gearshift
is in any position other than park (P) and
traveling at a low speed; the rear sensors
activate when the vehicle is in reverse (R)
and traveling less than 5 mph (8 km/h).
The side sensor coverage is up to 24 in (60
cm) from the sides of your vehicle. The
system provides object distance indication
through the instrument cluster display. As
the distance to the object decreases, the
indicator waves and the lines move toward
the vehicle icon. Visual indication remains on
when the transmission is in reverse (R).

Note:

Visibility aids do not replace the

need to watch where the vehicle is moving.
Refer to your

Owner’s Manual

 for safety

information, more details and limitations.

LANE KEEPING SYSTEM

When you switch the system on and
an unintentional drift out of your lane is
detected, the system notifies or assists you to
stay in your lane through the steering system
and instrument cluster display. Depending
on the feature operation mode you select,
the system provides a warning by vibrating
the steering wheel (Alert Mode) or a steering
assistance (Aid Mode) by gently counter
steering your vehicle back into the lane.
The system can also provide both warning
(vibrating the steering wheel) and steering
assistance (gently counter steering your
vehicle back into the lane) while Aid+Alert
mode is selected.
You can switch the system on or off
by pressing the

button on the

direction indicator.
Refer to the

Lane Keeping System

chapter of

your

Owner’s Manual

 for system operation

and limitations.

DRIVER ALERT

The system automatically monitors your
driving behavior using various inputs,
including the front camera sensor. If the
system detects that your driving alertness
is reduced below a certain threshold,
the system alerts you using a tone and a
message in the instrument cluster display.
Switch the system on or off using the
instrument cluster display. When activated,
the system monitors your alertness level
based upon your driving behavior in relation
to the lane markings and other factors.
See the

Driver Alert

 chapter in your

Owner’s

Manual

 for more information.

EVASIVE STEERING ASSIST*

When your vehicle is rapidly approaching a
road user that is stationary or traveling in the
same direction as you, evasive steering works
in conjunction with the pre-collision assist
system to apply additional steering torque
to help you steer around the road user. After
you pass the road user, the system applies
steering torque in the opposite direction to
encourage you to steer back into the lane. The
system deactivates after you fully pass the
road user.
