Verify that the GEM PID CLTCHSW indicates notACT when the transmission is in any position
other than NEUTRAL or PARK.
Do the GEM PIDs display correctly?
Yes

DIAGNOSE the starter interrupt circuit and digital TR sensor; REFER to
Section 303-06
. If the
circuits are OK, REPLACE the GEM; REFER to
Section 419-10
. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the
system for normal operation.

CHECK THE DIGITAL TR SENSOR — MONITOR THE GEM PID NTRL_SW
Monitor the GEM PID NTRL_SW.
Verify the GEM PID NTRL_SW displays NTRL.
Verify the GEM PID NTRL_SW displays notNTRL when the transmission is in any position
other than NEUTRAL.
Do the GEM PIDs indicate correctly?

Digital TR Sensor C182
Measure the resistance between digital TR sensor C182-7, circuit 57 (BK), and ground.
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes

No
REPAIR circuit 57 (BK). CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
