Cleaning and Maintenance of the AQUAFilter system
For hygiene reasons empty, clean and dry the AQUAFILTER system, the water filter
cartridge and the tank after every use.
Dirty water and moist parts favour the growth of bacteria and fungi.
After each dry vacuum cleaning take off the water filter cartridge and remove any possibly
remaining water inside the filter.
Wash the water filter cartridge – depending on the type and degree of dirt – with clear water,
without detergent additive. Please make sure that the filter is completely dry when using the
appliance next time.
Wet vacuum cleaning
Make sure that the float valve (40, fig. P ) is always clean and working. Its function is to interrupt
automatically the suction when the tank is full. When sucking from liquid levels higher than the
top of the tank and whose content is higher than the filling capacity of the tank, it is possible
that liquid still flows with the float valve being closed. In such cases, only suck partial quantities
and empty the tank in between. First take out the suction tube and the suction hose from the
liquid and then switch off the device in order to stop liquid from flowing.
A
Open lock snatch and take off motor head.
Take out the filters as they are otherwise damaged (fig. C and D). In case the detergent tank is
attached, take it out. (fig. H).
F
Place the motor head and close the lock snatch. Connect power plug.
G
Connect the suction hose. In order to take it off, turn the suction access to the side and pull it
out.
M
Close the suction power regulation (11) at the handle.
K
Switch on the appliance with the ON / OFF switch (6). The pump switch (7) should not be
lighted.
After having finished the wet vacuum cleaning, clean and dry the appliance and the accessory
used.
Spray extraction (Wash-cleaning) of carpets and hard floors.
Only do spray extraction on carpets that are suitable for wet cleaning.
Delicate hand-woven carpets or those staining should not be wet cleaned.
In case the carpet had already been shampooed at an earlier time it is possible that - when
using the THOMAS PRESTIGE for the first time – you have stronger foaming.
In this case, switch off the appliance and empty the tank.
In order to avoid further foam generation pour a 1/2 cup of vinegar into the tank. Increased
foaming is excluded when using the THOMAS detergent concentrate as this is equipped with
a special foam stop.
Make sure that when the spray function is on you always have liquid in the clear water
tank in order to avoid possible damages to the pump.
