c) Before switching on the
machine, always check that
the chipping machine, the
chipping system screws and
other fasteners are well se
cured and that the guards
and shields are in place. Re
place worn and damaged
parts in sets to avoid imbal
ance.
d) Replace damaged or un
readable warning and oper
ating labels.
e) Avoid wearing loosefitting
clothing, hanging cords or
ties.
f) Only operate the machine in
open space (e.g. not close to
a wall or other fixed objects)
and on a firm, level surface.
g) Do not operate the machine
on a paved surface or gravel
surface where ejected mate
rial could cause injury.
h) Check if guards and protec
tive devices are undamaged
and properly mounted. Be
fore using, carry out any
necessary maintenance and
repairs.
OPERATION
a) Before starting the machine,
look into the intake opening
to make certain that it is
empty.
b) During operation, keep your
face and body away from
the intake opening.
c) Wear protective gloves, stur
dy shoes and long trousers.
d) Do not allow hands or any
other part of the body and
clothing inside the intake
opening, discharge chute, or
near any moving part.
e) During operation, do not
reach into the intake open
ing. The machine runs on for
a few seconds after being
switched off.
f) If the cutting mechanism
strikes any foreign objects
or if the machine should
start making any unusual
noise or vibration, imme
diately switch off and al
low the machine to stop.
Remove the plug from the
mains supply and take the
following steps:
Inspect for damage.
Check for and tighten any
loose parts.
Replace or repair damaged
parts with original compo
nents if necessary.
g) Keep proper balance and
footing at all times. Do not
overreach. Never stand at a
higher level than the base of
the machine when feeding
material. Avoid unnatural
postures. Always keep your
balance so that you always
have a secure footing on
slopes. Walk, never run.
h) Keep extension cables away
from the cutting gear.
