2) calculate the centre of the floor opening.
3) trace the cutting lines parallel to the existing edges on the lower part (underside) of the landing at a
distance with respect to the centre equal to half the opening previously measured (Fig. 4).
6. Cut the landing with the muley saw, taking the utmost care not to chip the floor; sand off any imperfections
on the edge with sandpaper and protect with the wood stain provided.
Assembly
7.
Determine the position of the central column on the floor in relation to the dimensions of the previously cut
landing and then fit the base 023012 (Fig. 2).
8.
Drill a hole using a 14 mm bit and fasten the base 022001 to the floor with the parts
008001 (Fig. 1) .
9. Screw the tube 042013 onto the base 022001 (Fig. 1).
10.
Fit the base cover 132017 or 132018 on the tube 042013 (Fig. 9).
11.
Determine the fitting sequence of the treads 103012 and 103013, starting from the 1st one on the floor
and working your way up in such a way that the last tread in contact with the landing is 103013. In order, fit
the spacer D73 or D75, the plastic spacers 131030 or 131031, the first tread 103012 or 103013 (Fig. 10)
(remember that the ascending direction of the staircase must follow the shape of the handrail), the spacer
D73 or D75, the plastic spacers 131030 or 131031 and again the tread 103012 or 103013 and so on.
Position the treads, alternating between right and left, so that the weight is evenly distributed (Fig. 9).
12.
Once you have reached the end of the first tube 042013, screw on the part 022003, screw on the next tube
042013 and continue assembling the staircase (Fig. 9).
13.
Once you have reached the end of the tube 042013, screw the part 022001 onto the part 046036 keeping
the threaded hole facing up (screw on the part 046036 taking into account that it must be at the same
height as the landing floor). Continue fitting the treads using the compensation part 023001 in the spacer
D73 or D75 and the plastic spacers 131030 or 131031 (Fig. 11).
14.
Cut the part 023001 about 3 mm from the edge of the shortest part, and fit it to the spacer D73 or D75 and
then fit the landing 088002
(Fig. 11)
. Position the landing with the small hole (which will be used to fit the
baluster) on the landing side of the treads (Fig. 8).
15.
Fit the parts 023035 or 023037, 022065, 009010 and tighten the part 005008 (Fig. 1).
Fixing the landing
16. Move the part 047009 close to the floor. Determine the position, maintaining a distance of about 15 cm from
the outer edge of the landing, drill a hole using a 14 mm Ø bit and finally fasten using the parts 008001 (Fig. 1).
17.
Secure the parts 047009 to the landing using the parts 011053 (drill a hole in the landing using a 5 mm Ø bit).
18.
Position the parts 132016 (Fig. 1).
19. Release the part 005008 and fan out the treads 103012 or 103013. You can now climb the staircase.
Railing
assembly
20.
Start fitting the railing from the landing with an
end baluster (x)
and then with the
intermediate balusters (y)
and the
joining balusters (z)
.
If necessary, cut the balusters 127031 or 127035 from the lower side to obtain a railing height of about 100
cm. Orient the balusters with the part 033078 with the drilled part facing up (Fig. 1) (Fig. 8). Tighten the part
001010 of the lower and upper tread according to the rise (Fig. 1).
21.
Check that all the balusters positioned are vertical. Take care during this operation as it is very important for
successful assembly.
22.
Finally tighten the part 005008 (Fig. 8).
23.
Fasten the part 033142 on the floor in correspondence to the first baluster, drilling a hole using an 8 mm Ø
bit. Use the parts 011053, 008004 and 001004 (Fig. 1).
24.
Position the first baluster 127031 or 127035; adjust the height in relation to the balusters fitted previously (Fig. 1).
25. Prepare the helical handrails (p. 42).
26. Determine the length of the rods 076058 (Fig. 7) based on the staircase dimensions and cut them. It is
advisable to bend the rod into a helical shape as close as possible to the handrail 140051. Assemble
the rods 076058. To facilitate fitting the rods in correspondence to the joining balusters, remove the
parts 033159 and 033160. Finally, tighten the parts 001011 previously fitted in the parts 034040 of the
intermediate balusters (y).
27.
Complete the railing assembly by fitting the parts BF2 to the lower part of the balusters 127031 or 127035
and the parts 004051 to the sides of the treads (Fig. 1).
