9. WHEEL EXCHANGE

One of the many advantages of your Foldy trailer is that it is easy to raise the wheel to
exchange the wheel.  The following steps guide how to safely exchange a wheel.

1.  Prevent the trailer from moving by placing blocks on either side of the wheel that

needs to be exchanged.

2.  With a size 19 wheel-spanner (not provided), loosen the wheel bolts for the wheel

you wish to replace. Do not fully remove the wheel bolts yet. This might cause the
wheel to fall off and the trailer to collapse.

3. Remove the wheel blocks.

4.  Follow the steps 1 to 4 in Section 7.1 - Quick Folding without Side Wall

Removal to raise the trailer off its wheels.

5.  Stop rotating the crank arm (after about 5 clockwise turns) when the trailer’s

wheels are about 10cm off the ground.

6. Now remove the loose wheel bolts and replace the wheel.

7.  Re-insert the wheel bolts and fasten them finger tight to keep the wheel from

failing off.

8.  Now lower the Foldy trailer back onto its wheels by following steps 2, 3 and 5 of

Section 8 - Instructions for Un-Folding Your Trailer.

9.  Replace the blocks on either side of the wheel that was exchanged to stop the

trailer from moving.

10.  With the size 19 wheel-spanner, Fasten the wheel bolts securely to 90Nm of

torque.

11.  Check the tyre pressures. The maximum pressure is 4.25bar (425kpa) or 62psi.

CAUTION! Do not use or drive off with
your Foldy trailer without fastening the
wheel bolts securely.

This can result in the wheel falling off
and causing a serious road accident.

SAFETY WARNING

You have now successfully replaced the trailer’s wheel. Please complete the safety
checks as described by the instructions in Section 5 - Connecting the Foldy Trailer to your
Towing Car.
