In highest dynamic zones (approaching 0dB relative), depending on the parameters set for threshold and ratio, the
dynamic compressor will react in response to external excursions to limit saturation, vibration or excessive load on the
speakers.
It can be used to optimize the control, sound level and behavior of the system when listening at high volumes.
In lowest dynamic zones (-50 dB to -120 dB), depending on the parameters set for threshold and ratio, the dynamic
expander will react to reduce any parasite signals in the absence of a useful audio signal. This action makes listening at
low volumes more comfortable.
The threshold is the level at which the compressor or expander begin to act. Its value is expressed in relative dB in com-
parison to 0, corresponding to the maximum sound level achievable.

The ratio is the configuration parameter used to determine the
acting power
of the compressor or the expander. The
higher the ratio, the more dynamic compression there will be.

Each parameter in the compressor menu can be controlled using the mouse by turning the rotating potentiometer. To
turn the wheel right, move the mouse up, to turn the wheel left move the mouse down. Each value can also be changed
via the arrows for greater precision.
