Autotest in Loopback Mode (cont.) 

Caution 

If you disconnected the patch cord from the 
tester’s output port since setting the reference, 
you must set the reference again to ensure valid 
measurements.

Clean the connectors on the cabling to be tested; then 
connect the patch cords to the cabling. The tester shows 
connections for the test method you selected. Figure 10 
shows connections for Method B. 

Turn the rotary switch to AUTOTEST. Verify that the 
media type is set to Fiber. Press 

J

 Change Media to 

change it if necessary.   

Press 

P

. 

 

If bi-directional testing is enabled, the tester prompts 
you to switch the fibers halfway through the test. 
Switch the fibers at the adapters (not at the tester’s 
ports).

 

To save the results, press 

N

, select or create a fiber ID; 

then press 

N

 again.
