Decommissioning and Disassembly of the Argus Ball Valve
9.2.1
Requirements for Decommissioning and Disassembly
Before decommissioning and disassembly, observe the following requirements:
The specifications of the operating company for the decommissioning and disassembly
are observed
The piping and the Argus Ball Valve are depressurized, free of fluid residues and have
cooled down, so there is no risk of injury.
9.2.2
Decommissioning and Disassembly of the Argus Ball Valve
1.
Decommission the affected piping system.
2.
Ensure that there are no fluid residues or other substances left in the piping.
3.
Disconnect the power supply to the actuator and to its control components.
4.
Disconnect the actuator and the control components from the Argus Ball Valve.
5.
Disassemble the Argus Ball Valve from the pipeline.
When disassembling the Argus Ball Valve, pay attention to the information given in
chapter 12 Transportation.
Risk of injury due to hazardous fluid residues!
Hazardous fluid residues may cause severe injury or death.
Handle hazardous fluid residues with care.
Use a vessel to collect any hazardous fluid residues and dispose of them properly.
6.
Temporarily switch the Argus Ball Valve in the half-open position to let hazardous
fluid residues escape.
The decommissioning and disassembly is now complete.
