Measure the distance from the bottom of the rod to the mark. This is the sensor offset.
Note: If it is not practical to measure to the bottom of the pipe, measure the distance from the crown of
the pipe to the top of the frame (Figure 13). Add this distance to the pipe diameter to get the
sensor offset (sensor offset = pipe di distance from crown of the pipe to top of frame).
3.2.2.9
Sensor offset calculation
The following rules apply to the ULS-02 or ULS-06 sensors in case they are used with a PLC or controller.
The following configurations apply to the ULS-02 (standard range) and ULS-06 (long range) level sensors.
How to setup a ULS-02 sensor?
Calculation:
“Range min..” 4mA : Sensor offset - 2000
“Range max.” 20 mA : 2000 - | Sensor offset - 2000 | - 250
Example:
If the ULS-02 is installed at a distance of 1255 mm above the bottom of the channel, the
values for the 4 mA and the 20 mA would be as follow:
“Range min.” : 1255 - 2000 = -745 mm
“Range max.” : 2000 - | 1255 - 2000 | - 250 = 1005 mm
How to setup a ULS-06 sensor?
Calculation:
“Range min.” 4mA : Sensor offset - 6000
“Range max.” 20 mA : 6000 - | Sensor offset - 6000 | - 250
