However safe a child seat is, however well built it is, your child’s safety depends on you
carrying out the following checks before every journey.
Final Checklist
Extract the adult seat belt until fully extended. Then, holding the connector feed the belt
through the space between the seat shell and base. Insert the adult seat belt connector into
the adult buckle until you hear a click
(23)
.
Ensure the seat belt is not twisted or obstructed in any way.
Now locate the adult belt lap portion into the adult lap belt guides features found on the base
just below the red belt locks
(L)
.
Open the red seat belt lock on the adult buckle side of the car seat by moving the lever
downwards. Lift the front part of the lock and insert the adult diagonal portion of the
seat belt
(24)
.
Now tighten the belt. First tension the lap section of the seat belt by pulling it in the direction
shown on the buckle side of the seat. Then pull the diagonal section of the adult belt to
ensure that it too is tight
(25)
and then lock the red seat belt lock
(26)
.
Your car seat should now be fixed securely.
Check again that there is no twist or slack in the adult seat belt.
Have you set the harness correctly and to the correct height
(7) (8) (9)
.
Ensure the harness straps are not twisted.
Check the harness is set for the clothing and not loose
(14)
.
Check the harness is secure with the buckle and shoulder strap connectors latched
together and harness tension is correct
(10) (11) (12) (14)
.
Check the car seat is facing forwards in the vehicle and in the direction of travel
(see
forward facing position)
.
Check the seat belt is fitted correctly using the lap belt guides and the diagonal seat
belt is locked in the red belt lock near the adult seat belt buckle
(23) (24) (25) (26)
.
Check the vehicle seat belt is not twisted and tight around your car seat.
THE BUCKLE OF THE VEHICLE BELT
MUST NOT COME ABOVE THE LAP
BELT GUIDE OF THE CHILD SEAT.
IF THIS IS THE CASE, TRY ANOTHER
SEAT OR CONTACT OUR
CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT
